Computer System Analyst

At Arrendale Associates, Computer System Analysts will design, program, engineer, test and support proprietary software applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Builds new systems and develops new functionality within our existing applications, TA+, Speak-EZ+ and other AAI products.
  • Participates in support, development and management team meetings.
  • Prepares and maintains project descriptions and deadlines.
  • Articulates design and resolves technical/design conflicts as they occur.
  • Responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
  • Reviews existing systems and systems under development, participates in code review process.
  • Fosters growth of peers and team members, fostering other company employees.
  • Documents source code with both technical notes and non-technical logical notes that can be understood by the appropriate audience.
  • Successfully incorporates third party software into AAI suite of products.
  • Adapts quickly to an existing, complex environment.
  • Quickly learns new concepts and software as necessary.
  • Maintains and improves AAI’s reputation for excellent customer service.

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) and computer science foundations.
  • Knowledge of the .NET Framework.
  • Experience with C#, Java, JSP, and other Web programming skills.
  • Experience with Tomcat, Sencha EXT.
  • Experience with Oracle and Access databases.
  • Strong ability to work in a customer interfacing environment.
  • Willingness and ability to learn software functionality of TA+ platform and products.
  • Good telephone and oral communication skills with ability to effectively present information to coworkers.
  • Ability to write instructions clearly that are easily understood by others.
  • Basic or advanced knowledge of MS Windows, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Front Page, Lotus Notes, Internet Explorer, Oracle & other software programs.
  • Basic or advanced knowledge of personal computers, networks and servers.
  • Must be able to analyze and solve problems.

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • 4 year degree in computer technology or related degree is required.
  • 5-8 years experience with computer programming and database structures.
  • Experience with healthcare programming is desired.
